Mechanical seals are designed to prevent leakage and contamination between a rotating shaft and its housing under conditions of extreme pressure, shaft speed and temperature. Mechanical seals find application in pumps, mixers, agitator, compressors in chemical, Petro chemical, Fertilizers, Textile mills, Process houses, Power houses and Allied industries
A typical unit seal consists of hard dense special carbon sealing ring, rubber bellows bonded to the ring and a stainless steel spring enclosed in the bellows. However, to suit certain applications, seals are designed with conical spring to compensate for heavy starting load and to sustain liquid of varying contamination including slurry, sludge, scwaye, vicouse and abrasive media.
We maintain highest possible standards of quality by strict inspection at every stage of machining of Mechanical Seals. Special care is taken to achieve required flatness on our specially developed lapping machines. The accuracy of flatness of each part is tested individually with optical light bands.
Our Mechanical Seals can be operated at temperatures ranging form 100 oC to 300 oC . For application in such high temperatures special material grades are used. Basic raw materials used are carbon and graphite with different impregnation as per application of each machine and liquid media. Some of the commonly used are: CY10C (Resin-impregnation), MY10K (Metal -Lead -Copper), EY9106 (Carbon grade withstand high temperatures up to 450 oC mainly for the gland ring)
At Ace Carbon we are committed to make each mechanical seal machined to stringent precision to serve your specific needs.
